BitFuFu October Mining Output Drops Amid Rising Network Difficulty

Key Summary

BitFuFu mined 137 BTC in October, falling from 167 BTC in September despite steady hashrate management, while Bit Digital appointed former BitFuFu executive Charley Brady as Head of Investor Relations to oversee institutional communications.

Key Bullets

  • BitFuFu mined 137 BTC in October, falling from 167 BTC in September due to rising global hashrate competition.
  • Network difficulty increased by 11.8% during October, moving from 132.76 trillion up to 148.36 trillion by month-end.
  • BitFuFu held 1,454 BTC at the close of October, up from 1,388 BTC at the end of September.
  • Bit Digital named former BitFuFu executive Charley Brady as Head of Investor Relations on Tuesday to manage institutional communications.

October Output Slides Despite Stable Hashrate

BitFuFu mined 137 BTC in October, dropping from 167 BTC in September even though total hashrate under management remained virtually flat at 19.5 EH/s compared with 19.4 EH/s a month earlier. According to the company's monthly operating statement released November 6, self-mining output took the brunt of the contraction by sliding to 67 BTC from 98 BTC.

Cloud-mining production held steady at 70 BTC against 69 BTC in September. Total monthly production declined by 30 BTC across the combined operating divisions. The treasury balance actually expanded during the same window. BitFuFu held 1,454 BTC at the close of October, up from 1,388 BTC at the end of September.

Network Difficulty Surge Drives Output Lower

Rising network difficulty ate directly into mining margins throughout the month. Public operational data confirms Bitcoin network difficulty increased by 11.8% during October, moving from 132.76 trillion up to 148.36 trillion by month-end. Competition for block rewards intensified across global pools.

A miner running an unchanged share of overall computing power captures a smaller slice of issued coins when network-wide competition expands. Fleet efficiency metrics showed incremental gains during the operational period. Average fleet efficiency tightened to 16.3 joules per terahash from 16.7 in September, though hardware upgrades failed to offset the broader difficulty expansion. Power capacity under management registered at 317 megawatts, down slightly from 324 MW the prior month.

Bit Digital Hires New IR Head

Nasdaq-listed Bit Digital named Charley Brady as Head of Investor Relations on Tuesday, bringing in a veteran with over 20 years of experience across capital markets and equity research. Corporate disclosures filed with public exchanges confirmed the transition follows Brady's departure from BitFuFu Inc., where he directed investor communications and supported capital markets initiatives. Chief Executive Officer Sam Tabar stated the appointment aims to sharpen market messaging regarding the firm's balance sheet strategies.

Brady spent more than 15 years covering diversified industrial companies on the sell side before moving into digital asset sectors. That background gives him direct insight into how institutional funds evaluate underlying asset values and operational risk. Management expects the hire to bridge communication gaps for equity holders tracking the firm. The market absorbed the update without immediate share price turbulence.
