Milestone Reached
Fortitude Mining Holdings has pushed its Zcash hashrate past 5.0 GSol/s, a milestone the company reached as of October 15, 2026. The goal is ambitious: Fortitude wants to cement its position as the largest vertically integrated Zcash mining platform. The Jump
The jump came quickly. Earlier in October, the company's hashrate sat at approximately 4.7 GSol/s. What 5 GSol/s actually means Zcash runs on an algorithm called Equihash, so its hashrate is measured in 'solutions per second' rather than the hashes per second Bitcoin miners talk about. A GSol/s is one billion of those solutions every second. Fortitude's slice of the Zcash pie is already substantial. In the first half of 2026, the company mined 72,696 ZEC, which works out to roughly 28% of network production over that period. The operation runs across seven US sites with over 60 MW of power capacity under contract.Strategic Partnerships
In July 2026, the company placed an order for 9,000 Bitmain Antminer Z15 Pro miners. The price tag was about $31.5 million. Those machines are expected to add 7.56 GSol/s to Fortitude's fleet. The company projects that the order will lift capacity by 145%, taking its total to approximately 12.8 GSol/s.Expansion Plans
In October 2026, Fortitude signed a letter of intent with Bitmain covering up to $100 million in next-generation mining equipment. The commitment is non-binding. The planned $20 million refundable deposit for that deal is set to be paid in ZEC, rather than dollars. The Hut 8 connection and the road to TUDE Fortitude is led by CEO Jaime Leverton, who previously ran Hut 8. The company is preparing for a listing under the proposed ticker TUDE. Alongside the listing preparation, Fortitude has been upsizing its credit facility and gearing up for acquisitions. What This Means
A single operator producing around 28% of network output in the first half of the year is meaningful, and planned expansion could push that share higher if competitors do not keep pace. The July order is expected to deliver a 145% capacity increase. Delivery timing, installation, and power availability all have to line up for those projections to become reality. The Bitmain letter of intent carries even more uncertainty. Up to $100 million is a headline-friendly number, but a non-binding agreement can shrink, shift, or disappear before money changes hands.- \1\1\1\1\1\1\1\1\1
