Tron Stablecoin Dominance and Ripple RLUSD Growth
Key Summary
On-chain data reveals TRON capturing over 40% of active stablecoin holders alongside significant regulatory scrutiny, while Ripple expands RLUSD supply past the $2.5B threshold.
Key Bullets
- TRON holds 76.53 million stablecoin addresses, representing 40.45% of the active market.
- Ripple expanded RLUSD supply past the $2.5B threshold via corporate issuance.
- Elliptic tracked $3.24B in stolen Binance hack funds across TRON prior to Tether freeze actions.
- Hackers routed funds through SunSwap before bridging $147M to Ethereum as ETH.
Tron Captures Dominant Stablecoin Holder Base
On-chain network data published Tuesday confirms TRON held an average of 76.53 million stablecoin addresses during Q3 2026. This metric captures 40.45% of all active stablecoin participants across forty-five monitored blockchain platforms according to network analytics.
Ethereum registered 26.32 million average holders over the same reporting window. TRON thirty-day averages crossed 79 million participants entering Q4, pointing to sustained transfer activity and persistent settlement demand across global markets.
Ripple Mints RLUSD Past Capitalization Milestone
Ripple expanded the circulating supply of RLUSD past $2.5B Tuesday following aggressive internal token minting efforts. Corporate issuance drove the asset higher by $150M, though the expansion lagged behind historical capitalization peaks of $2.632B.
On-chain transfer monitors observed that the supply increase stemmed from corporate issuance rather than organic retail demand. Order-book depth and actual peer-to-peer velocity across XRPL remain muted compared to competing settlement layers.
Elliptic Traces Stolen Funds Across Tron
TRON served as a major early route for moving assets stolen in the Binance hack, according to a November 2 investigation report published by Elliptic. Blockchain analytics data showed the attackers spreading funds across roughly 7,700 TRON addresses before activity shifted to alternative layer-one networks.
Elliptic estimated that about $3.24B in digital assets remained sitting at addresses associated with the theft at around 07:00 UTC on November 2. Binance reported approximately $6.3B stolen in the October 29 attack, and the FBI subsequently attributed the breach to North Korea's TraderTraitor group.
Tether Freezes Assets After SunSwap Activity
According to Elliptic data, hackers swapped 234M stolen USDT for TRX on SunSwap just before Tether froze the remaining USDT supply on TRON. A distribution wallet began breaking TRX into smaller chunk transfers on October 30 as funds travelled through thousands of different addresses.
In total, $147M left the TRON network, almost all of which arrived on the Ethereum network as ETH. A total time of 51 hours elapsed across 1,113 distinct transfers from the time the distributing wallet came into service to its final destination.
