What is CoinTracking?

CoinTracking is a crypto portfolio tracking and tax reporting platform designed to bring together multiple exchanges, wallets, blockchains, and DeFi protocols. Launched in 2012, it has over 2.2 million active users and supports over 400 integrations across exchanges, wallets, and blockchains. The platform combines two main functions: portfolio management and crypto tax reporting.

Portfolio Management

On the portfolio side, users can import transaction histories from exchanges, wallets, and various networks to monitor balances, trades, realized and unrealized gains, and overall portfolio performance in a single unified dashboard. CoinTracking also provides a Missing Transactions Report, ValiCheck, Account Check, and the Transaction Flow Report to help identify gaps or inconsistencies in the imported data.

Tax Reporting

On the tax side, CoinTracking analyzes the transaction history and generates tax reports. The platform supports 13 methods to calculate taxes, including FIFO, LIFO, HIFO, ACB, AVCO, and HMRC, alongside some additional options for selecting different calculation methods across tax years. CoinTracking provides country-specific reports for 22 jurisdictions, including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, and Switzerland. Users in other jurisdictions can use CoinTracking’s configurable General Tax Report option.

Pricing and Plans

CoinTracking has devised various pricing options to cater to different user needs. It offers a free plan, as well as several paid plans with varying features and limitations. The platform is best suited for investors and traders who have more detailed or complex crypto history and value reporting depth, accuracy, and data validation.
