Coinbase and Deribit Launch 6 New Equity Perpetual Futures Markets for Global Traders

What Just Went Live

Coinbase and Deribit have opened six new equity perpetual futures markets. The new contracts give non-US traders round-the-clock leveraged exposure to names like Oracle, Palantir and Dell.

The Launch

The six new markets are CRWV (CoreWeave), ORCL (Oracle), SOXS, DELL, PLTR (Palantir Technologies) and SNXX. The lineup mixes individual stocks with ETF-linked underlyings. SOXS stands out. It tracks the Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bear 3X Shares ETF, a product built to move in the opposite direction of chip stocks, with triple the intensity.

How Equity Perpetuals Actually Work

Because there is no expiry, these contracts need another way to stay anchored to the real stock price. That job falls to a funding mechanism. Periodically, traders on one side of the market pay traders on the other side. If the perpetual trades above the underlying asset, longs pay shorts. If it trades below, shorts pay longs.

The Deribit Factor

This launch rests on a deal Coinbase made more than a year ago. In August 2025, Coinbase acquired Deribit for approximately $2.9 billion. Coinbase completed the integration of the two platforms in early October 2026, just ahead of this rollout.

The Everything Exchange Strategy

Coinbase has branded its broader ambition as the 'Everything Exchange'. The goal is to unify trading across multiple asset classes under one roof. Equity perpetuals sit right at that intersection. The underlying assets are traditional stocks. The collateral and settlement layer is a stablecoin. The trading hours follow crypto's never-closes schedule.
